I am a philosopher and postdoc researcher at the Chair for History of the Modern World at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH). In this position, I am currently conducting a research project on postcolonial Switzerland.
My expertise is in feminist theory, gender studies, postcolonial studies, queer studies, poststructuralism and deconstruction. My teaching is driven by my research, and focuses on questions of power, alterity, critique, representation and alternative knowledge.
In the past, I was a Visiting Scholar at the Humboldt University of Berlin, the University Paris X Nanterre and the University of California Berkeley. Moreover, I worked as a research assistant at the Center for Gender Studies at the University of Basel. I received a PhD in philosophy from the University of Basel in 2005 and a Lizentiat (MA) from the same university in 2000. During my studies, I was a visiting student at the University of Ghana in Legon.
